About

The Ipswich Australia Stake is part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We serve our members and community covering the Ipswich area in South-East Queensland. Congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are formed based on geographical boundaries and in some cases langugage units based on local requirements. These geographical boundaries are formed into wards (more than 250 members on record), branches (less than 250 members on record) and stakes (combination of wards and branches) with local leaders chosen and fulfilling their duties on a volunteer basis.

A ward or branch (parish) is made up of members who live within a geographical boundary. A stake (diocese) is a combination of wards within a certain area. Ipswch Stake is made up of 7 wards covering Goodna, Collingwood Park, parts of Redbank Plains, Raceview, Bundamba, Silkstone, Blackstone, Flinders View, Eastern Heights, Ripley, Yamanto, Deebing Heights and Swanbank. Wards can also be formed based on language requirements and as such we have 2 Samoan speaking wards.

Our Mission

Our Leaders

Church leaders are volunteers and not paid clergy. As we learn and grow in the gospel, we are given opportunities to serve each other and learn organisational and minsterial skills.

Ipswich Stake comprises 7 wards (parishes).
